Two cute boys and a set of really sweet parents makes for a great photo shoot. I only wished they lived closer so Nikki and I could be friends. :) John is a football coach at Lamar High School so we took some photos with the football gear. Wish we could've done some outdoor shots, but January just doesn't allow for much of that. But we had a fun indoor shoot and got lots of shots to look through. Here are a few of my favorites....

Finally! I've got some pics to show you of such an adorable little girl. She was born in November and I'm seriously late posting about her. She was a great little model and only pee'd on her parents once. Her parents, Jacob and Beth, are friends of ours that we go to church with. In fact, Beth is one of Jack's Bible Class teachers and we are so blessed to have her teach our little one. Emelyn made her debut at church a week ago and, of course, did great :)

Cone Family Part 2

Here's a few more from the Cone family photo shoot. What a precious family. We're so glad that 3 years ago we had the privilege of shooting Krista and Alex's wedding photos. Brent and I will never forget it because we both came down with a stomach bug the day before it. They were so sweet to help us out with our equipment and very understanding to our weary bodies. It was a GORGEOUS wedding in Dallas, TX. Not long after that, they started to come to church with us at Silver City. They worshiped with us there for a couple of years and then recently moved to Brooklyn. We were all so sad when they left, but happy that they're having a blast in Brooklyn. Krista is such a bucket of laughs, I miss seeing her smile greet me at church.

Jimmy and Andee also are very special to us. They have been mentoring a young man and woman from Silver City for 7+ years!!! Those kids mean so much to us and we can say thank you enough to faithful mentors like the Cones. What a blessing!

I went to Harding University with Lauren and Patrick. Lauren and I were in the same club (Go Zeta Rho!) They have little Elliot, the first Cone grandbaby... and what a cutie he is! Patrick has his own video production company that, once I get my site remodeled and going, I'm hoping to use his talents to possibly do a Ruple Photography video for the home page. Cone Family Part 1

Well, I'm a little bit behind and I wanted to get some pics up tonight before bed time. So here is the wonderful Cone family (Part 1 of their pics). I could only get a few touched up tonight, but many more tomorrow. We did their photo shoot in Little Rock at Jimmy and Andee's house on December 23rd. I'm so glad we were able to do their photo shoot before the holidays. Krista and Alex flew in from Brooklyn, got their baggage and headed straight into the shoot just before we lost daylight. Now that's some family photo dedication :) .... more pics to come tomorrow but I just had to get little Elliot's "monster" face on here before I signed off. Love it!

Christmas Break

Beautiful one year old Avery

Brent and I have agreed that this boy is the most beautiful baby boy we've ever seen (besides our own of course) I told his mom, Ashley, that I'm betrothing him to my daughter for marriage .... when they're 30.
Avery turned one year old this December. I remember taking Ashley's family photo last November when she was pregnant with him and I was pregnant with Grace. He is a sweet little boy and the perfect little model. I think he needs to be on a baby magazine.

Catching up again...

Here is a shoot from the day before Thanksgiving. The whole Wisdom family got together at Ron & Pam's house for a photo shoot on their front porch and all around the property. It was a wee bit cold and I'm so thankful Pam let me borrow a jacket!! I'm a weenie in the cold weather and my teeth were chattering. I'm glad the rest of the family is tougher than me because they smiled and looked great in photos. Their cutie kids were little angels. Great photo shoot for everyone!

Jay is a sweet little 6 year old. She was a little shy to start but warmed up really fast when I let her jump on the bed in the sunroom! She was great at smiling, posing, and being picture perfect. We also caught some shots with mom, who wasn't expecting to be in photos - but they turned out fantastic.

They all are sweet teenagers and I'm always happy for a family that likes to show some hugs and smiles in their photo shoot, and these guys did great! :)

Tonight was a really cool shoot with the Edwards family. Tommy is a lineman for Entergy and the Weather Channel has been following him around watching what he does on the job, with his family, and just real life. So the weather channel came to the shoot tonight! They filmed us taking their family photo and it was a blast! The show will be aired in March. I'll blog when it is on. We also got a fantastic shot out of the shoot as well. I'm loving me some Edwards fam. They're all so sweet and Catie and Calyn are hilarious! I wouldn't call them camera shy ;) (check out the pic of them below)

Williams Family Shoot

Here are some sneak peeks from last Saturday... the Williams family photo shoot. Once you got Kylee (the middle daughter) warmed up, she was a hoot! What a fun little girl. Kaitlyn was the perfect big sister, so helpful! It makes me think that 7 years is a good spacer between kids. Not only helpful, but ADORABLY photogenic. I could've shot photos of her all day! And Kenna (the youngest) just perfectly sweet. She skipped her nap and made it through the whole shoot and then fell asleep at the end in her momma's arms. Would my daughter have ever done that? ... Never. But I'm thankful for kids that will cause they make cute photos!

Rabb Kiddos

I'm very behind on blogging from the Thanksgiving holidays and everything since then. I apologize to everyone for my tardiness in posting your sessions. I've had some health problems that have put me behind a little. And the holidays is not a good time to get behind! :)

Last Friday we had a fun shoot with the Rabb children. I asked them before they started how much do they love each other as a brother and a sister (always a fun question for a 5 and 8 year old) and Reagan gave me a look of "not at all!" Well, I was fooled because you would've never known it... they were always having fun together, hugging, and being absolutely picture perfect. Needless to say, I was impressed!
We've taken their photos before when they were itty bitty. It was fun to see how much they've grown up. I hope we can take the whole family photo sometime soon! They're all so very photogenic.

Edwards Family

It's true it's hard to get a whole family together at the same time. So Brent and I are good with shooting around the holidays. We know it's the time when folks are together. The Edwards family came to see us the day after Thanksgiving and couldn't get everyone there at the same time. So, Carol had a great idea of photographing everyone in a different position and placing them around the word "FAMILY". I loved the idea and below is a picture of what I have so far. We're waiting on two more people to come get their photo made. We had fun shooting it too! You had to have vision to see why we were doing such wierd poses. :)
We also took Haley's baby, Ryder, 5 week old photos. He is such a great baby! My children at 5 weeks did not sleep as well as he did. Carol has a tradition of having all of her kid's photos made on a blanket that her mother made. So Ryder joined that tradition and I have a photo of him on the family heirloom. We caught some great shots of Haley with him too .... so sweet.
We also got pictures of Catie and Calyn and they did fantastic. No problem posing these girls - they're naturals.

Our Razorback Team

Thanksgiving was a fun time with family and good food! We also had lots of shoots around Turkey Day that I have not gotten to post about yet. Since it's late, I'm just going to put the photo up that I meant to add on Friday before the Razorback/LSU game. We had photos scheduled everyday but not at 1:30 on Friday. It was a rule that we couldn't take photos during the game. (Not that anyone else in Arkansas would want to schedule then either) I love living in a state that is 100% behind the same team. There are no divisions on what school do you cheer for.... it's just Wooo Pig Soooeee around here.

Here is one of our Friday shoots where the whole family came wearing their Razorback gear for the family photo. This is baby Ryder and his momma, Haley, holding him. I have so many photos to post from this shoot and I promise, if at all possible, I'll get them up tomorrow.

Until then, I still love our Arkansas Razorbacks even though we lost to LSU. We're still a good team and I'm not going to be a fair weather fan.

Stephanie

Stephanie is a senior at Conway High School and is so special to us. 1. she dates our nephew, 2. babysits my children, and 3. she's also super dooper fun. We knew that Stephanie would do an awesome job at her shoot, but I didn't know it would be this awesome! Seriously, FANTASTIC.
We ended up having a rainy day for the second reschedule. And we decided to just go with it. When life hands you lemons, right? Well, the day handed us rain - so we shot under cover, indoors, a lot of sunroom, and then we also had some fun in Stephanie's rain boots and did some puddle jumping! :)

Stephanie plays the guitar and sings. And I think I've made her first cd cover ;) (see the last picture below)

The whole Henson family

As most people know, we love our friends Lee and Andrea Henson. We photograph them probably the most of anyone. Our kids are best friends and Lee and Brent can't run to the hardware store without each other's company. We've become attached to both of their families as well. A couple of months ago, I posted about the Shipman family, which is Andrea's side and a couple of weeks ago we photographed Lee's whole family. It's such a blessing to know these two wonderful families and to feel a part of them. I feel as comfortable at their houses as I do at my own.
A photo shoot with 4 small boys is always full of energy and always fun. We were chasing the sunlight and only got to shoot Lee's family and Nancy's family before dark. We did the full family shot in their dining room in their house.
I did a fun photo with Lee and Andrea and their boys. I felt like this pose probably described life a little better :) I think Brent and I could do the same pose with our two and feel like it's a perfect fit as well.
It was a great day, a great shoot, a FANTASTIC meal afterwards, and wonderful company.

Brittney's Bridals

Beautiful brides make for beautiful pictures. And Brittney is a gorgeous bride. We shot her bridals in Danville, AR at the Chamberlyne Country Club. We thought we were going to have high winds and no chance for outdoor photos. But to our surprise it was a perfect afternoon for photos. So we shot outdoor and indoor. She is a simple woman who doesn't like to always be the center of attention. So I know it was out of her comfort zone to be focus of everything... but wow, did she do good with photos! Senior Tori

Tori is a senior at St. Joseph High School. Her Dad called me a month or so ago and we had a couple reschedules due to weather or scheduling conflicts. But I knew I was going to like the Carters just from talking to her Dad on the phone. She is called "Sissy" in her family. I could tell they were a tight knit family which is very much like my own. I don't know if my Dad ever calls me by my actual name. I'm always "Sissy" in my family as well. Brent and I really enjoyed getting to know the Carters. Tori plays volleyball and cheers competitively. She was a natural in front of the camera and great at dealing with the slightly cooler temperatures. McKnight Photos

Wilson and Rachel have been married for almost 3 years and decided to do some more photos in their wedding dress and suit. It's something I've always wanted to do with Brent as well. Times have changed since I got married and I have more fun ideas that I'd like to try in our wedding outfits.
The McKnights were fun to photograph. They're a very sweet couple and so easy to chat with. They love the Razorbacks (as do we!) and their kitchen is all decked out in Hog gear. So we used their McKnight Hog sign and did a few shots with it.

Mulhearn Family

Today I had the opportunity to photograph a very special little girl and her family. Little Stella is a beautiful 2 year old girl with an adorable smile. She is special to everyone who meets her because she can instantly steal your heart away. She is so smart ... and talks better than my 4 year old does. She loves her bunny and marshmallows :) Her brother Davis is the perfect big brother ... he knows exactly what to do to get a smile out of his sister. In fact, I think he keeps the whole family laughing when he dances a jig around the house. I even got to see some of the performance! Amanda and Travis are excellent parents. They love their kids and would do anything in the world for them.
Stella has medulloblastoma, a form of cancer. They found this out not long ago at the end of October and in a very short time, Stella has had brain tumors removed in surgery and is scheduled to start chemo next week. I want everyone who reads this blog to take a minute to say a prayer for this adorable little girl. From everything I've heard about her, she is tough and a fighter. I pray God's peace to cover her parents in the months to follow.
After taking her photo today, I came home to my 10 month old little girl and 4 year old son. I hugged them tight thinking all the time of what it would feel like to have my children go through such a hard time. I can't imagine. Literally, I can't think about it without welling up with tears.
To Travis and Amanda - you guys are wonderful parents and I feel honored to get to photograph your precious family. You're smiles and amazing faith show that you're not giving up ever.

Dague Engagement

We did this photo shoot about a month ago and I completely forgot to blog about it. Bret and Kelley's wedding is approaching fast this December! We did Kelley's sisters' wedding back in 2007. And now they (Jennifer & Matt) have a little baby boy.

Bret and Kelley were just plain cute at their shoot. I love "walking poses" for couples and I always try to tell them that they have to act like I'm not there and kind of just "act" in general. It's like your in a movie and you've got to own the show. Well these guys could have won an oscar they were so good at it.
They are also both golfers so we had them take a few swings of the club out in the field by the barn. I couldn't tell who had the better swing, but it sure made for a cute photo!

Congrats Kelley and Bret - can't wait for your wedding next month... I know it's going to be beautiful!

Brooke, Stephen, and Xander

Brooke, Stephen, and Xander came to see us today for a fun photo shoot. Xander loves to throw the baseball around. He is such a fun little 3 year old and my son, Jack, LOVED getting to play a while with him. It's not out of the ordinary for Jack to find us outside and want to jump in a shot or two ... or ten or twelve. :) He saw that Xander had his baseball bat, so he ran and got his new bat from his tee ball set. We got so many great shots of these guys that I told Brent out of 200 photos, we have 190 awesome ones and I couldn't hardly pick which ones to put on the blog. Seriously... the kid knows how to smile so cute and I must have hit the camera button constantly. We had fun!

Carlisle Senior Lana

Avery & Anna Engagement

Avery and Anna are such a sweet couple and they really know how to have FUN together. When we were setting up the flashes, Avery through Anna over his shoulder and said he was ready for photos! They're both A&M graduates and they still love those Aggies! Avery is an Eagle Scout. John Michael and Samantha engagement

We had a fabulous time with John Michael and Samantha last Saturday. We met up with them at the Clinton Presidential library and took some photos around the library and also on the new Junction Bridge right beside it. Then after sunset, we finished up on Clinton Avenue in downtown Little Rock. They're both very sweet and we had a good time chatting about life, how dogs are just like having kids, and Razorback football. We're looking forward to their wedding next June!

Sometimes I forget to show pictures of my own adorable children. Here is my Grace at 9 months old. She usually gets professional photos done when I need a test shot before a photo. I use her as my little model. I actually took these as her own "9 month indoor session". I want to do some fun outdoor shots at 1 year old. But her birthday is December 24th, so I doubt we'll get those outdoor pics. I may have to wait until she is 18 months old.

Little Charlie is due to arrive in 5 weeks and Terry came to us for maternity pictures. She has a beautiful preggo belly! Trevor - Senior 2012

We had a good time with Trevor during his senior session. He's one laid back, super sweet guy. We had a rainy day and we asked him to come an hour later and the weather ended up being perfect at that time. Trevor likes to hunt and play basketball. He also had some pretty awesome iphone pics from his recent vacation to Yosemite that he showed us. It made me miss camping and going out in nature. I loved his little onsie that had an applique tie on it. My first thought was to show one of my friends, Amber Mullins... she makes those cute things all the time. What a great idea for a newborn. Fun shoot and super sweet parents. Liam's Dad, Caleb, volunteered his time as a little league soccer coach to my nephew for 5 years. I know he made a difference in his life forever. We love the Bell family! We did their wedding photos about a year ago and now we had the pleasure of photographing their first baby girl. We also attend church with them. And we're anxiously waiting for LaDoris to be able to bring Jasmine to church. And I know she's anxious as well! She's been patient to wait the 5 weeks that the doctor said she should. What a BEAUTIFUL baby girl they have.

Wow... Wow... Wow.... I love every photo we took from this photo shoot. Great job Hannah and Elisha! We had a fun time hanging out in downtown Campbell, Texas with these two lovebirds. We enjoyed getting to know their personalities. Brent and Elisha share the same clothing trend of all grey clothing. They brought their guitar, drum sticks, oatmeal cookies, and super photogenic selves to the shoot. We had a blast! Their wedding is quickly approaching in July. Josh, Tiff, and Katie

My sweet sister-in-law turned 30 this year. I told her for her birthday I wanted to do something fun. She loves photos and loves her family - so I combined the two and voila! We did some with her and Katie, Josh and Katie, and also a few of Josh and Tiff together. It was fun! Many special thanks to Terry Gipson for letting us use her antique bed and field. Josh and Tiffany have one more daughter who is 10 months old that we're hoping to photograph as well... the field just wasn't the place to take a curious crawling baby.

We're so blessed to know the King family. We've taken several of their church friend's photos in the past. And then last November took Justin & Michelle and their kids' family photo. This spring we were blessed to meet the whole fam. If I didn't already have an awesome church at Silver City in North Little Rock, I would be compelled to check out United Fellowship Church that the King family attend (and preach at!) because I've had so many amazing clients come from that congregation that love God and are wonderful Christian people.

Anthony's 1 Year Photo Shoot

Anthony is a big brother at one year old to his little brother, Brody, whom we photographed not long ago for his newborn shoot. We did a set with his Cookie Monster paraphernalia, which was adorable. I wish I could claim the cookie idea - but once again, Momma Mandy thought of it.:) He had a Cookie Monster themed birthday party too! He's such a sweet little boy and already an awesome big brother.

Creasey Kids!

What do you do on a rainy day with a sweet family who drove hours to see you? You stay inside and shoot a bunch in the sun room and porch! Here are some great shots of the Creasey kids. It's our second chance to photograph them. We took lots of their youngest for his one year old photo shoot. I love this family... the parents are good friends of mine from my freshman year at college at good ol' CRC.

Vilonia Tornado

On April 25, 2011 a tornado classified as an F2 bulled through our small town. It wiped out 50 or more homes and killed 4 people. Brent and I were with our two kids, his mother, two aunts, and his grandmother in our basement. We've went to the basement several times in the past for warnings of tornadoes. It's never been a big deal - almost a family get together. But this one was different. I still thought "no big deal" until I heard our windows and house rattling and Brent could see through our small basement window our barn roof fly off. I thought "okay, this is for real" Moments later, we walked upstairs and heard sirens, saw several trees down, and major damage. The side of town we live on caught the tail end of the tornado... the other side of town where the rest of his family lives got the full twister. Below is a photo that a friend texted me of the twister from the bank beside our studio and house. Note: I did not take this photo and I don't know who to give credit to - but it's a great shot!

Brent spent the next week cleaning up the damage. His aunt and uncle completely lost their home. His mother had damage to her home and numerous trees gone. And his grandmother had most of her trees blown over and some roof damage. Most importantly - we're all safe and I give glory to God!

Baby Brody

I absolutely love this family. I've had the privilege to photograph their engagement, Mandy's bridals, their wedding, their first son's newborn, their second son's newborn, and tomorrow - their first son's 1 year pics. That's right.... one year old ... I believe the two kids are 9 days apart. They don't waste any time building a family :) They're hilarious and so fun to be around. Looking forward to Big Brother's shoot tomorrow - and hope to post soon.

We've been photographing the Dallas family for a while now and I always look forward to their photo shoots. They are really good friends of ours. Kate's dad, Drew, went to school with Brent since they were in kindergarten! Pretty long time to know someone and I feel honored to be able to photograph their kids. Nikon D700

Yes, we're moving up in the world of cameras. We just got in our new Nikon D700 and we're pretty pumped about it. The plant that makes the Nikon cameras was hit hard by the recent earthquake in Japan. So we decided we should order the camera now. We were unsure as to how bad the damage was or when the facility will be up and running again.

Great photo shoot last week with the Milam kids. I love getting to know new people and the whole Milam family was just 100% sweetness. Great kids, great shots, beautiful day! Hunter was the focus because he just turned one and Aspen had a blast playing with my son Jack while we were photographing her brother. Here's some of the photos... Vilonia Senior - Katherine!

We took photos of Katherine last year at Hendrix College. She swims competitively for Vilonia High School. We got great shots there at the swimming pool and then this spring we got some more excellent pictures of her outdoors at our studio. I love it when we can catch the spring flowers here. I'm glad she came back for some more shots.

Conway Senior - Angela

Angela is a cook and going to chef school after she graduates! I wish I would've known before she came, I may have thrown in some fun chef poses. She is really photogenic and we enjoyed getting to know her. These were all taken at our studio... one in the sunroom and two in our outdoor sets .... I'm loving the springtime flowers.

Conway Bridal Fair

We participated in the Conway Bridal Fair at the end of February. We missed the Little Rock one because we had a baby in late December. Here is a photo my Dad took of our booth. Him and my mom came to Arkansas to watch the kiddos while we set up for the bridal fair.

Elsworth Engagement

I am blogging completely out of order from this past summer. But this wedding is coming up next weekend and I wanted to get their engagement pictures on here. Ali and Trey are so very sweet and Brent and I had a fun time at their shoot. They know how to ham it up and how to look serious too - something that not all people can do (including myself) Their wedding is in Greenville, Texas on March 12th. We're looking forward to the road trip!

Catching Up

Ricky & Merilee Engagement

Merilee and Ricky had their photo shoot in Dallas, Texas in a high rise apartment complex called "The Mercantile Place" It was a rainy day and we had originally planned to do some outdoor downtown photos - but the rain kept us mostly inside. They were troopers though and did go outside and stand in the rain for a few shots. Thanks Ricky and Merilee for being so flexible!

the Story Wedding

We've had so many weddings this summer that we're behind on our touch ups, books, and just about everything. But we're wrapping up the touch ups on this one and I wanted to share a few. These guys know how to throw a party! Bentleys' Dad's band sang at the reception. I don't know their band name, but they were awesome. There was also a few performances by Amanda's brother, Ben... and a surprise performance from the king himself.... Elvis. :) Thanks Bentley and Amanda for letting us be a part of your day - it was a blast!

Cody Vilonia Senior 2011

Bo and Meredith Engagement

Bo and Meredith were a very fun couple to photograph. We took their photos on top of Petit Jean Mountain at the Winthrop Rockefeller Center.
